Houston room named for professor emeritus

On Oct. 8, Houston Hall Room 205A was named in honor of Don MacKendrick, a long-time history professor at Colorado Mesa University. MacKendrick, now a professor emeritus, taught from 1956 to 1990.

He served from 1977 to 1990 as dean of the then-School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. MacKendrick is also a devoted financial supporter of the institution. In 2001, he was inducted into the athletic Hall of Honor in recognition of having served for 44 years as an official scorer for men’s basketball team. A group of his former students led the effort to have something of permanence named in his honor.
