We are CMU: Parent’s Weekend and Homecoming stampede onto campus

Two of Colorado Mesa University’s biggest fall events are just around the corner. Parents’ Weekend falls on Sept. 26–28. Homecoming 2014 is hot on its heels, coming to campus the week of Oct. 20–25.

Parents’ Weekend is packed with events for students and their families. On Friday, visitors may attend a CMU class, tour campus and enjoy an ice cream social. Saturday, guests are invited to join President Tim Foster for coffee, hike the Colorado National Monument with the Outdoor Program and cheer on the Mavs during a CMU football game. The weekend wraps up Sunday with a free brunch in the dining hall and a women’s soccer game. The hilarious (and R-rated) Avenue Q will be playing throughout Parents’ Weekend.

While in town, visitors may want to participate in some of the local events taking place that weekend, including the 100th annual Fruita Fall Festival. Students and their families may view the full schedule of on-campus events, RSVP for the weekend and view accommodations atcoloradomesa.edu/parentsweekend.
