Piano music by CMU faculty published

Abundant Silence Publishing has issued the first of five original piano solo compositions by CMU Professor of Music Arthur Houle, DMA. The first of these pieces, written for intermediate-level piano students, is entitled “Bright-Eyed and Bushy Tailed.” The five selections are being published separately and also together in the book Cowboy Jazz II. (Another company published the first set of Cowboy Jazz works by Houle in 2008.) The other titles in volume two are “Tommy Tumbleweeds,” “Saloon Tune,” “Buckaroo Blues” and “Under the Stars: A Cowboy’s Dream.”

The company plans to publish several other Houle compositions, including his new “Sonata Americana,” a piano work in three movements for advanced pianists.
