Festival to benefit Maverick Club student-athlete scholarship fund

The Maverick Club will host the third annual Grand Valley Beer Festival, presented by Fisher’s Liquor Barn, May 18, from 1-5 p.m. on the University Center’s terrace. Featuring over 100 beers from more than 50 breweries, the fundraiser has quickly become a local tradition. Sips from Colorado wineries will also be available.

Brewers will compete for medals in seven categories. Last year’s winning breweries—Bristol Brewing Company, Kannah Creek Brewing Company, Oskar Blues, Breckenridge Brewery, Ayinger and Avery—will return to compete. A complete list of participating breweries can be found at grandvalleybeerfestival.com.

The event is open to anyone age 21 and older. Tickets are $25 at the door (cash only), and photo identification is required. Designated drivers and non-tasters receive free admission.

The Grand Valley Beer Festival is one of numerous fundraisers led by the Maverick Club, composed of individuals and companies united to promote excellence in CMU’s athletic programs. Last year, the club generated more than $65,000 in support for CMU student-athletes.
