Unconventional Energy Center announces grants

CMU’s Unconventional Energy Center announced funding for six projects to help the community
position itself as an epicenter of energy innovation.

A $1.6 million grant from the Mesa County Federal Mineral Lease District was matched by
CMU, creating a $3.2 million endowment to fund applied research and workforce development
projects that help move the community toward this goal.

“This center has worked very hard to identify good projects that open doors for students while
making progress in the unconventional realm for our community,” said President Tim Foster.
