Faculty awarded tenure and promotion

The following faculty members were granted tenure by the CMU Board of Trustees and promoted from assistant professor to associate professor by President Foster:

Tyler Anderson, Spanish
Anderson has taught at CMU since 2006. He earned his MA in Spanish Linguistics from Brigham Young University and his PhD in the same field from Pennsylvania State University.

Blake Bickham, Education
Bickham joined CMU’s Center for Teacher Education in 2007. Bickham earned a EdD in Teacher Education from the University of Houston after being awarded a BA and MA in English from Texas A&M.

Cynthia Chovich, Education
Chovich has taught a variety of courses since joining CMU in 2007. She holds an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University and an EdD in Educational Leadership from Walden University.

Kyle McQuade, Biological Sciences
At CMU since 2006, McQuade has developed several new courses meeting general education and biology major requirements. After earning a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, McQuade spent three years as a teaching and research fellow at Princeton University.

Richard Ott, Mathematics & Statistics
Ott came to CMU after teaching at Rice University and the University of Missouri, Columbia. Ott’s PhD in Statistics from Rice was earned after completing an MS in Applied Mathematics from University of Missouri, Rolla.

Markus Reitenbach, Mathematics.
Reitenbach earned a PhD in Mathematics and a Teaching Postdoctoral Fellowship from Syracuse University. His MS in Mathematics, also from Syracuse, was awarded after completion of the Vordiplom from the University of Ulm. Reitenbach has taught a range of courses since coming to CMU six years ago.
