CMU makes President’s Honor Roll for seventh year

CMU was named to the 2013 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes institutions which reflect the values of exemplary community service and achieve meaningful outcomes in their communities.

The honor roll is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service and has been in place since 2006. Colorado Mesa has earned a spot every year since its inception. A total of 690 colleges and universities, including nine Colorado institutions, made the honor roll this year. CMU is one of three Colorado institutions named to the honor roll all seven years the program has existed.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, 3,811 CMU students engaged in community service, including academic service-learning, providing 401,362 hours of community service. Using the dollar estimate of volunteer time by the independent sector, this amounts to $8,745,677.98 worth of services.
