Winegard lecture on Native Americans airs on C-SPAN

Timothy C. Winegard, DPhil, instructor of history, gave a lecture at the Colorado History Museum in Denver that was filmed and later aired by C-SPAN. In his lecture, Winegard talks about the history of Native Americans and their involvement in American and Canadian wars. He argues that American Indians participated in World War I as an extension of the population’s ongoing efforts to shape social and political realities, resist cultural assimilation and segregation and attain equality through service and sacrifice. The lecture is available via C-SPAN video at c-spanvideo.org/program/310344-1.
