Welcome to the home page of Communications in the Analytic Theory of Continued Fractions (CATCF). The CATCF was created in 1992 to provide an international forum for reporting and discussing developments in the analytic theory of continued fractions and closely related topics. This online version of the CATCF was established in 2009 to offer a dynamic way of sharing our announcements and reports with each other, which in turn helps CATCF fulfill its "Communications" mission.

Announcements

The announcements section of the CATCF is intended to provide a means of informal communication between scholars in the field. We encourage a variety of postings to this section. For example, if a conference or a paper session is planned, then a link to the conference web page would be an appropriate contribution. Similarly, short articles summarizing a conference or paper session are invited, as are links to abstracts and papers from different sites. Other forms of communication regarding any aspect of our field are welcome.

There are no announcements at this time.

Goals and Objectives

The primary goal of CATCF is to provide a convenient way of communicating information relevant to the field of the analytic theory of continued fractions. The objectives for the journal include:

  • providing a means of exchanging information concerning research, both current and past, in those subjects covered by the journal;
  • providing overviews of pertinent areas of activity through expository articles describing the evolution of theory and/or its implementation in applications;
  • establishing a comprehensive collection of abstracts and reviews of published (even unpublished) works that lie within the scope of the journal.

To achieve these goals and objectives, the journal contains sections for Announcements, Research Notes, Abstracts, Expository Papers, Historical Notes, Classroom Notes, Progress Reports and Reviews.
