Wireless Internet Access

Wireless networking is available and supported in all of the Residence Halls, most classroom buildings, the University Center and the Maverick Center.

CMU WLAN

Students, faculty and staff connect to the CMU WLAN wireless network.  CMU WLAN is encrypted and requires a MAVzone user name and password and annual device registration.  CMU WLAN provides access to services like incoming IMAP and POP3 email. Follow the instruction below for your type of device.

Connecting to CMU WLAN from iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or Mac OS X

  1. Choose CMU WLAN from the list of wireless networks
  2. When prompted, enter your MAVzone user name and password, then click OK
  3. If prompted, verify and accept any Colorado Mesa University certificates
  4. Visit the registration page and register your computer

Connecting to CMU WLAN from Windows

  1. Download and run our wireless configuration installer
  2. When prompted by the installer, enter your MAVzone user name and password
  3. Verify and accept any Colorado Mesa University certificate prompts
  4. Visit the registration page and register your computer

Connecting to CMU WLAN from other devices (Linux, Android)

  1. Your device must support Enterprise WPA/WPA2 PEAP authentication
  2. In most cases, just select the CMU WLAN network and enter your MAVzone user name and password
  3. After connecting, visit the registration page and register your device

CMU Visitor

Visitors to campus can connect to the CMU Visitor wireless network.  They must be sponsored by a student, faculty or staff member. Click here to request access for a visitor.  If your request is for one person for one day, the request is automatically approved and you will receive an email with the username and password for your guest within a few hours.  Your request will be automatically approved for up to 20 people for one or two days.  If your request is for more people or more than two days, it will be approved or denied within one day and you will receive an email to that affect.

You can now print from the CMU WLAN network to many of the networked printers around campus using MAVprint.  Follow these steps to get started! Note: You must have administrative access to your computer. 

Windows Users:

Download and install MAVprint webclient.

Windows Version

Click on the links below to install printer at location you want to print.  When prompted do you want to save or run this file, click run.   Click run again, at the next window displaying a message about the publisher could not be verified.

When you have submitted a print job to one of these printers, the MAVprint webclient pop-up will appear.  Log in using your Novell username and password. Your print job will appear.  Click the box to the left of the printjob and click the Pay and Print button.

Mac Users:

Download and open the MAVprint and Printer Install file. This file contains the webclient and printer install programs.  Install the printer to which you want to print.  After submitting a print job to the printer, open up the MAVprint webclient.  Enter your Novell username and password.  Your print job will appear.  Click the box to the left of the printjob and click the Pay and Print button.
