Student Groupwise Email is Here!

Beginning March 11, 2010, students will have the same Novell Groupwise email system that is used by Faculty and Staff.   Groupwise provides an intuitive, Web 2.0 interface with a rich feature set that will allow you to drag and drop email to folders, color code messages, spell check, and search for text in all of your email messages.

This initiative, supported by ASG, was implemented at no cost to students.

Important things to know

  • Your email address will not change.
  • Beginning March 11, 2010 all new email sent to your email address will show up in Groupwise.
  • Click on the Groupwise Email icon (instead of the Student Email Archive icon) in MAVzone to access your Groupwise email.
  • Messages stored in the previous student email system, Netmail, will be available until May 15, 2010. Click on the Student Email Archive icon in MAVzone.
  • You can forward old messages from your Netmail account to your Groupwise account to save them for future reference.  Click here for instructions.
  • If you have a need to forward more than a few email messages to your new account, visit the computer lab in Library 120 where staff will assist you.
  • Forwarding rules created in your Netmail account to forward your email to a third party email provider will not carry forward to your Groupwise email account.
