Hamilton recreation center

The Maverick Center and Hamilton Recreation Center completed its $41 million dollar renovation and expansion project resulting in a modern, advanced, and exciting recreational facility that surpasses any other in Western Colorado.

Completed in December 2009, this major renovation included a new Athletic Training area, offices and classrooms to accommodate our expanding campus. A new natatorium with a 50 meter competition swimming pool and diving well includes an observation area that will allow Colorado Mesa University to host regular season swim competitions, as well as Division II championships.

Other Rec Center amenities include:

  • A 28-foot high, 812 square foot contoured climbing wall

  • Fitness/strength training area with 29 cardio stations

  • 26 stations of single-station circuit training equipment and a stretching area

  • Recreation Gymnasium for basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, yoga, aerobics and badminton

  • Two championship courts used for racquetball, handball and wallyball

  • A three-lane elevated indoor track for running, jogging and walking
