About BCS
BCS is located just blocks away from our main campus at 1600 Ute Avenue, #10 in Grand Junction. For more information, or to make an appointment, call 970.241.6500 or visit http://www.bcsgj.com

We value your safety
To provide you with a safe living environment, our residence halls are locked 24 hours a day and guests are required to be escorted at all times. Desk attendants monitor the lobby and the Residence Life staff makes rounds to oversee the halls. The Grand Junction Police patrol campus and officers are specifically assigned to the campus during the academic year. We also have installed security cameras at each one of the entrance/exit points to each hall, and Blue Light emergency phones are located in various spots around campus. In addition, our campus is a dry campus meaning drugs and alcohol are not allowed in any of our residence halls or apartments. The Colorado Mesa University Escort staff is also available to walk you to your destination on-campus or to your car.

Escort Program
Colorado Mesa University has an escort program to walk you to and from your hall, to your car, or anywhere else on–campus in the evenings. We hire students that submit to a police background check and work with both Housing and Residence Life and Grand Junction Police to create a safe environment for our campus. Our escort staff works seven days a week from 6 p.m. - 2 a.m. every night that classes are in session. Call 970.260.2683

Fire Protection System
Our fire protection system includes varied devices such as pull stations, pull station covers, smoke and heat detectors, air handle unit detectors, horns, and strobe lights. A few of our buildings have interior sprinkler systems. All equipment is checked, maintained and inspected by our own trained facilities services personnel. The Grand Junction Fire Department inspects our systems on a regular basis. Tri-County inspects and replaces fire extinguishers and ANSUL systems.

Emergency Blue Light Phones
Emergency Blue Phones are located across campus at Tomlinson Library, in the Elm Avenue Quad south of Tolman Hall, and on the south side of Grand Mesa Hall. To use, simply press the red emergency button, wait for the dispatcher to answer, and explain the problem. A blue light at the top of the phone will flash so that responding police/fire/medical personnel can easily locate you.
