Theatre, Speech, and Dance Department Scholarships

  • These scholarships are only available to students without a prior baccalaureate degree, unless otherwise noted.
  • Value $amounts are subject to change pending funds available.
  • Deadline for all scholarships unless otherwise noted: March 1

 

Colorado Mesa University Talent (Colorado) Grant - Dance

Value: Up to $1,000

Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be majoring in Theatre/Drama.

 

Colorado Mesa University Talent (Colorado) Grant - Theatre/Drama

Value: Up to $1,000

Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be majoring in Theatre/Drama.

 

Robert H. and Cynthia B. Cutter Scholarship

Value: $2000
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must enrolled and active in the Theatre program.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0.

 

Marion Fletcher Scholarship

Value: $1000
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be majoring in Speech and/or Theatre.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

 

Gormley Memorial Scholarship - Theatre/Drama

Value: $400
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be majoring in Drama/Theatre.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Must be a resident of Western Colorado (west of the Continental Divide).
  • Preference given to students with financial need.

 

Guyton Music Theatre Scholarship

Value: $600
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Class rank of Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
  • Must be majoring in Music Theatre who has tried out for and participated in two theatrical productions.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Madge Huffer Scholarship

Value: $2,000
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be enrolled in either Speech or Theatre activities.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.

Moss Scholarships

Value: $1000
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be enrolled and active in Dance, Theatre, Vocal and Instrumental music.
  • Minimum institutional cumulative GPA of 2.5.

 

Eileen Nagatomo-Townsend Memorial Scholarship

Value: $1,500
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Class rank of Sophomore, Junior or Senior.
  • Must be enrolled in the Theatre Program, preferably in the Acting Program.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5.

  • Available to a Colorado Mesa University student enrolled in a Fine and Performing Art major.
  • Must be a legal Colorado resident, preferably a Western Slope (Colorado) resident.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0.
  • Preference will be given to upper-classmen.

  • Must be a Mesa County (CO) resident
  • Must be majoring in Theatre Arts or Teacher Education.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Preference given to students with FAFSA documented financial need.

 

Dr. Henry H. and Margaret Zeigel Fund Award - Theatre

Value: $350
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be majoring in Theatre.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
