Center for Teacher Education Scholarships

  • These scholarships are only available to students without a prior baccalaureate degree, unless otherwise noted.
  • Value $amounts are subject to change pending funds available.
  • Deadline for all scholarships unless otherwise noted: March 1

 

Virginia Beemer Early Childhood Education Scholarship

Value: $500/$250 each semester (full time student) or $350/$175 each semester (part time student).
Criteria:

  • One award available to a full time student (minimum of 12 credita per semester) and one award available to a part time student (minimum of 3 credit hears each semester).
  • Must be majoring in Early Childhood Education.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Applicants must have completed a minimum of 6 semester hours of core Early Childhood Education classes the semester they submit their application.

 

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International Alpha Mu Chapter Scholarship

Value: $1000 ($500 per semester) to be applied to tuition and fees.
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Available to a female student working toward teachure licensure.
  • Class rank of Junior or Senior.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.

Deadline: March 22

 

Richard Klausmeier Mathematics Secondary Education Scholarship

Value: $1000 ($500 per semester) to be applied to tuition and fees.

Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Must be accepted in to the Center for Teacher Education, secondary education licensure program with mathematics major.

 

Jack Minion Memorial Scholarship

Value:$300
Criteria:

  • Must attend Colorado Mesa University full-time (at least 12 credits per semester).
  • Class rank of Senior.
  • Must be enrolled in Humanities and Social Sciences majoring in Elementary Education.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Preference give to students with financial need.

 

Strobl Fiscus Scholarship

Criteria:

  • Must be a Mesa County (CO) resident
  • Must be majoring in Theatre Arts or Teacher Education.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Preference given to students with FAFSA documented financial need.
