Keegan Pfeiffer

Sustainability, Energy and Utilities Manager

Keegan graduated from CMU in 2012 with a bachelor's in business administration with concentrations in management, marketing, and entrepreneurship. He started working with Facilities Services in 2010 as a student custodian. After demonstrating commitment and a strong work ethic, he was promoted to a Student Lead position.

After he graduated in 2012, he was offered an assistantship, which is a paid academic appointment to a graduate student that involves part time teaching or research. Working in this position while attending classes provided him the opportunity to gain real world experience and practice the concepts that he was learning in the classroom. Keegan graduated from the master's program in May 2015.

"This opportunity has provided me with the practical experience and education that I need to stand out in a competitive job market," he said.

Much of his free time is spent enjoying outdoor activities such as snowboarding and hiking. When he is working in the office, he manages the daily operations of the HVAC and plumbing crew. He ensures that the buildings are at a comfortable temperature that allows for a pleasant learning environment.

"The best part about my job is that it challenges me to learn something new every day."
