AAS, Rogue Community College
Denis Thibodeau received his associate degree from Rogue Community College. Thibodeau is currently a Technical Instructor of Computer Aided Design Technology at Western Colorado Community College where he teaches courses in Introduction to Computers, Computer Aided Design, Advanced Computer Aided Design, CAD-Mechanical, CAD Application, CAD Civil, CAD-Architectural Theory, CAD Commercial Architecture, CAD-Residential Architecture and Structural Materials.
Thibodeau has 12 years' experience in Architectural, civil and Technical drafting, 18 years of experience as a Technical Instructor and owned his own company for some of those years.
In class, Thibodeau tries to challenge the students to think out of the box, with the proper skills, and believe they can design most anything. Many of his advanced students really turn out what Thibodeau considers 'fantastic designs'.
His teaching style is very matter of fact, he tries to have his students ready for real world applications, second year students follow a residential structure in the field and re-create the structure as a 3D model. Included in the class are regular site visits, a picture portfolio and formal presentation.
