Ann Gillies, Ph.D., received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Special Education from Ohio State University and went on to earn her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Florida. Gillies is currently an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education as well as the Exceptional Learner Special Education Coordinator at Colorado Mesa University's Center for Teacher Education. She has 15 years of teaching experience at the elementary level with students with a variety of disability labels, high and low incidence. She is a Nationally Board Certified teacher and has taught in Columbus, Ohio and Sarasota, Florida.
Ann Gillies is the Faculty Advisor for the Student Chapter, Council for Exceptional Children Club. Her interests include teacher education for inclusion, listening to the voices of children, international perspectives on disability and experiential learning.
