For the past ten years, Allen Golden has taught a variety of history courses and has studied, researched and written about many historical eras. His scholarly interest is twentieth Century American History, in particular the 1920’s and 1930's. He has extensively studied the history of Colorado in particular the origins of mining communities.

He holds a doctorate in education, specifically in curriculum and instruction, a master's degree in secondary education and a bachelor's degree in history.

Born and raised on Colorado’s Western Slope, Allen works for the Montrose and Olathe School District as the secondary curriculum coordinator and gifted coordinator. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring the mountains of Southwest Colorado on foot, snowshoes and by Jeep.
