Biography

Sandy Forrest, PhD, earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and PhD in Nursing from the University of Texas at Austin. Forrest has been a member of the CMU nursing faculty since 1980. She teaches leadership courses and oversees the department's accreditation activities for the practical, associate, and baccalaureate nursing programs.

Forrest is a licensed professional counselor and a therapist with Behavioral Health and Wellness in Grand Junction. She works with children, adolescents, individuals, couples and families. Her areas of specialization include adolescent depression, eating disorders and chronic pain. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a peer reviewer for four professional journals, and has recently had three chapters accepted for publication. Her research interests include therapeutic dialogue and working with resistant individuals.
