On-Campus Recruiting and Employer Services
We offer a variety of services to aid employers in filling their positions with CMU students and/or alumni. Our goal is to assist in matching the best candidate with the best company. Employers must adhere to our employers policies when using our services. The University reserves the right to refuse any employer the access to recruit on campus.

Participate in our employer panel. Careers Service hosts an Employer Panel event featuring up to six employers from a range of sectors in a chaired discussion with a student audience. The session includes both a structured discussion around successful applications and skills development before opening up to a question & answer session with the students.
The panel discussion includes questions such as:
- What makes a successful applicant?
- What do you look for in a resume/cover letter/interviewing session?
- What skills and competencies do you look for in a prospective employee?
- Do's and Don'ts in an interview
Assist with Workshops or Classroom Presentations
Be our consultant on interviewing and resume strategies, provide feedback on the current trends in hiring, and have the opportunity to meet students and get a sneak peak at the future workforce. If you are interested in participating as one of our class/workshop presentation consultants, contact Career Services.
On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) provides the opportunity for employers to hold information meetings, conduct interviews, or have a table in the University Center. Employers visit the CMU campus to speak with or recruit students and alumni concerning their employment opportunities.
The following services are available by request:
- Reserve a hallway information table
- Reserve a room for interviewing or a company information presentation
- Schedule student interview times based
We provide these services for scheduled visitations:
- Give students company literature you supply
- Send an email to students announcing your visit
- Post the visitation on our Upcoming Events web page
Three campus visits may be scheduled for each semester. Semesters include Fall (August - December), Spring (January - May), exceptions may be made for each semester. Employers are required to remain at their assigned table for the duration of the campus visit and allow interested students to approach them. Employers are not allowed to roam the campus and approach students as they walk across campus going to class or other activities. We do not want students feeling uncomfortable by employers' unwanted solicitations. Employers can have access to the students to discuss job opportunities in a structured and expected forum. If employers want to provide food or beverages for any visit or meeting in CMU facilities, they must contract them through campus dining services by calling 970-248-1414.
