Dance makers use inventive movement and composition to examine personal and universal topics and themes. Student choreographers have been harnessing their choreographic voices in processing the current political and socioeconomic landscape. The concert will feature a West African guest work by Marilyn Sylla, master African dancer and Sekou Sylla, master African dancer and drummer, that includes drumming students from the music department. The concert rounds out with work by faculty choreographers Meredith Lyons, Amanda Benzin and Gabriele Cahill along with selected student choreography by Ashlee Arline, Cameron Cunningham and Ayla Schuetz. Come ready to be inspired by CMU's talented and hard-working dance majors.
