Employer Panel

Participate in our employer panel. Careers Service hosts an Employer Panel event featuring up to six employers from a range of sectors in a chaired discussion with a student audience. The session includes both a structured discussion around successful applications and skills development before opening up to a question & answer session with the students.

The panel discussion includes questions such as:

  • What makes a successful applicant?
  • What do you look for in a resume/cover letter/interviewing session?
  • What skills and competencies do you look for in a prospective employee?
  • Do's and Don'ts in an interview

On-Campus Recruiting

On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) provides the opportunity for employers to hold information meetings, conduct interviews, or have a table in the University Center.  Employers visit the CMU campus to speak with or recruit students and alumni concerning their employment opportunities.

The following services are available by request:

  • Reserve a hallway information table
  • Reserve a room for interviewing or a company information presentation
  • Schedule student interview times based

We provide these services for scheduled visitations:

  • Give students company literature you supply
  • Send an email to students announcing your visit
  • Post the visitation on our Upcoming Events web page

Three campus visits may be scheduled for each semester. Semesters include Fall (August - December), Spring (January - May), exceptions may be made for each semester. Employers are required to remain at their assigned table for the duration of the campus visit and allow interested students to approach them. Employers are not allowed to roam the campus and approach students as they walk across campus going to class or other activities. We do not want students feeling uncomfortable by employers' unwanted solicitations. Employers can have access to the students to discuss job opportunities in a structured and expected forum.
